Imagine Steering Your Coaching Session With a Single Click
This proposal introduces a feature designed to give you real-time control over your AI responses. With just one tap, you can explore different approaches during your coaching session, allowing you to adjust the conversation exactly how you prefer.
Introducing the Options Button
Each AI response will now include an Options Button. When you tap it, you'll immediately see three commands: Upscale, Versions, Regenerate and Regenerate with Feedback, These commands are designed to help you steer the session in a click, designed to help you access the response style that best aligns with your goals.
Available Commands
Upscale:
Enrich and expand the current response to make it more robust and detailed.
Versions:
Replace the current AI response with 2 alternatives.
When you activate Versions, a toolbar shortcut appears with one-click options for selecting, upscaling, or switching to versions for each variant created.
One option will be pre-selected by default. Once you choose an alternative, the other options will disappear, and your session continues seamlessly.
Regenerate:
Triggers the existing regenerate feature to refresh the response. This re-evaluates the AI's approach and provides a fresh perspective based on the current context.
Regenerate with feedback:
Asks for direct feedback on what you want to have the coach change, and saves this to its memory for that session. Triggers the existing regenerate feature to refresh the response. This re-evaluates the AI's approach and provides a fresh perspective based on the current context.
How It Works in Practice
When you tap the Options Button, a toolbar appears below the message with the commands.
If the AI generates more than one message under Versions, one will be pre-selected by default.
You ask yourself which option you like better and if it's good enough. If it's aligned, you just tap it and continue coaching. When you tap it the other fades away and your back to the 1 to 1 exchange.
If you don’t like any, hit regenerate.
If you have specific feedback, hit regenerate with feedback, give the feedback, and the AI will try again.
If you like one option but it's not perfect, hit the upscale button. It will enrich the coaching approach to try to improve it.
Soon as you see an option you like, just keep coaching and it goes back to 1:1 coaching.
You can immediately choose another option if you’d like to shift the direction of the conversation. If you reply right away, any unselected options will vanish, and your session will continue with your chosen response.
A message will appear suggesting the next step: choose a coach reply, or upscale one, or get versions of one
A New Level of Control
This feature is designed to empower you with extensive control over your coaching sessions. It allows the AI to offer multiple response options when needed, so you can choose the path that best resonates with your preferences. In future updates, we may add dedicated modes or additional buttons to further refine how these options are presented, based on your feedback.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this proposal and how it might help you shape your coaching experience.

Putting this back in review based on feedback from Krista!

If you implement this, I will definitely use Regenerate with Feedback" frequently. Right now, I just type in my feedback. Will there be a functional difference, other than the fact that the previous option disappears?

Krista Giannak: Excellent question!!
Right now, the regenerate button makes the item disappear, runs a full analysis, and rebuilds the coach based on the context, aiming for better alignment.
That was one of our first features, and we have evolved a lot... theres a much deeper build to it I would do to improve it and use our latest innovations.
These days, the coaches greatest skills and adaptability come a new source that is related to my training it with 1000s of unique contexts against 100 or so modalities and selecting only the 10/10 responses in a custom system we built....
And the analysis happens presently before that. Coaching will get a 20% upgrade in quality when we break the analysis into 2 separate parts, but this is quite a surgical operation which will need a lot of testing, like 50 hours of testing to get stable and release, so its planned but not top of list.
The new regenerate button would allow us to make some of those upgrades directly. Right now we are actually exploring a lighter version of the above upgrades, where we have the AI run an analysis but NOT come to a discernment about which path might support you best. Thats being tested now and an easy upgrade.
It allows it then to pull from all of its knowledge before making that discernment. I have a private AI in which we are testing this and I could get you or others early access if you want.
Thats a much simpler build, we literally just need to test that.
the new regenerate button would be built that way, it would remove the last response, it would show the AI the constrast between what it said and your feedback, challenge it to understand the difference, and then have it re evaluate its approach and try again.
It should be dramatically .more effective then the current regenerate button, and we would upgrade that in the same way too.
Hope that makes sense... you did ask about functionality and we try to be transparent, but I can simplify that if its too much in the weeds!

Merged in a post:
Add the ability to tell the AI directly how to coach you, what you like and don't like, and have it remember
Jonathan haber
We can add the ability for it to learn how to coach you, your preferences, in a user profile, I think thats a solution that would make a big difference for some of the user concerns I am reading today.
Vote here if you want this and would use it!
