We want you to get the most out of IX Coach from the very start. A unified onboarding experience is designed to help you quickly understand and navigate key features—like choosing your preferred coach, setting your vision and goals, and easily configuring your setup—so you can begin your coaching journey with confidence and clarity.
What We’re Designing
This onboarding experience will guide you through a series of simple, interactive steps that naturally introduce you to IX Coach’s core functions:
Coach Selection Made Simple:
Right after your first login, a friendly prompt will invite you to explore different coach personalities.
You will be provided the difference between the default mode and the custom coaches, and if you want, a link to the explore page where you’ll see a clear overview of the available options, with a brief explanation of how each one can align with your unique needs. This way, you can choose a coach that resonates with you from the very beginning.
Capturing your Vision and Goals:
The next step will clarify that your vision for your life can be extracted from conversations about anything so you wont need to clarify your vision to get the most out of it, but it will also provide a an opportunity to write about your vision in the system or upload a google doc about your vision, and if you do, it will upload into your coaches memory.
Phase 1 - write about your vision
Phase 2 - upload a doc
Clear Introduction to Goals and Vision Sections:
As part of the onboarding, you will receive concise explanations for the Goals and Vision sections.
A short message or tooltip will clarify that the Goals section is for tracking actionable, short-term objectives, while the Vision section is meant to capture your long-term aspirations. You’ll learn that these areas can be updated manually or enriched with insights from your sessions.
Smooth, Guided Setup:
To make getting started effortless, the onboarding will include a few initial prompts that naturally guide you through the setup process.
This conversation-style introduction is designed to help you understand the essential configurations and discover key features without needing to search for them.
How It Supports You
This unified onboarding is designed with your journey in mind. It aims to provide a clear, step-by-step introduction that aligns with how you want to engage with IX Coach—whether that’s exploring various coaching styles, capturing your aspirations, or simply setting up your account with ease.
By offering helpful guidance and contextual insights, this experience is intended to empower you to make the most of your coaching sessions from day one.
If this approach would enhance your experience with IX Coach, please vote to bring this unified onboarding experience into development.
All of this is in planning stage, so please Any feedback or comments or preferences on this, please add them here!

IX Coach Dashboard

Since I go back to IX Coach daily to check some features and go through some sessions, I noticed that my "dashboard" automatically opens to my previous session even when I've already completed it. Perhaps the dashboard could open to a view of all my sessions thus far, along with an option to create a new session. Although the menu options do exist, I think a landing dashboard page like this would make it easier for the user to choose what they want to do when they open the IX Coach website.

Coaching Style Visibilty

While accessing the IXCoach's AI Coaching feature I noticed I received a similar pattern of response connected solely to a particular niche. It took me a very long time to find out that I could change my coaching style to the niche I intend talking about. The coaching style should be made more visible (maybe somewhere beside the "send" command).

[ Onboarding ] Make the capabilities of the AI alot more clear at the outset
Jonathan haber
Make the capabilities a lot less hidden, a lot more clear a the outset…
( Im thinking this is like vision analysis, the new email tool where it does a bunch of reflection to determine high impact opportunities, and all the unique coaching modalities and custom coaches it has, but if its other things let me know )...

Where do I start?

using where do I start as an introductory prompt to my AI coach at first I didn’t like the response so I hit the recycle button looks like a recycling button and it gave me another answer that made more sense. I appreciated that and I appreciate the back-and-forth with the coach, but that’s you know that’s AI and it’s base that’s the whole point of the LLM model so I enjoy this service and I can see it being of great value

Getting started is overwhelming

I recently began using your app and would like to share some thoughts on the initial user experience:
- Initial Overwhelm: Upon first login, I found the interface somewhat overwhelming. It was only through exploring the settings and menus that I discovered the variety of coach personalities available. Selecting a coach aligned with my current needs significantly enhanced my session compared to the default interdisciplinary option.
- Onboarding Enhancement: The user onboarding could benefit from a more guided, walk-through approach. For instance, during the first session, the coach might engage in an introductory conversation to understand my vision, goals, and perceived challenges. This would help in identifying areas for improvement and focus allocation.
- Clarification on Goals and Vision Features: While the app includes ‘Goals’ and ‘Vision’ sections, their purpose was initially unclear. I was uncertain whether the coach would populate these fields or if I needed to input my goals and vision to facilitate better understanding.
- Reducing Setup Confusion: It was confusing to determine how much setup was required on my part to achieve optimal results. It would be beneficial if, upon a new user’s arrival, the coach initiated the conversation with a few prompts, similar to a human coach, to naturally start the interaction.
Implementing these suggestions could enhance the onboarding experience, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.

I talked to this User and he is suggesting that we make it more obvious that you can change coaching modes.
This seems reasonable although it is pointed out in the tour, but worth looking into.
If others felt confused about being able to change styles of coaching, please let me know by upvoting this or commenting
