Upgrade the Voice to Voice Mode to make it more natural and UX friendly
planned
Jonathan haber
We are upgrading the voice to voice mode, to add features like
- tap to talk, tap to send
- press and hold to talk, let go to send
- when the coach is talking, tap to interrupt
- when done talking, placing the words captured into the input so you can edit if desired before sending ( in consideration )
- when loading ( not able to press buttons ) notification of what is happening
- a new graphical look for it that conveys these things simply
Any feedback on what would consider to be the optimal experience for this let us know!

Voice Memo Interaction Option - Voice Clip Exchanges with your coach
Jonathan haber
This idea proposes integrating a voice memo or voice recording feature into IX Coach, allowing users to communicate naturally via spoken messages rather than relying solely on typing.
This could reduce frustration or anxiety associated with text-based interactions, particularly during moments of heightened emotional stress.
It would involve assessing feasibility and ensuring voice-based communication aligns well with IX Coach's technology and privacy considerations.
The actual plan would be to simulate a voice clip recording style messaging app in the interface that allows you to listen back to your own recordings and the coaches.
The downside of end to end recording is that they tend to consume battery life on a phone about 3x faster than not having them, so weigh that in in your voting consideration.
If you connect with Jill’s preference for voice interaction and want to see this feature also, vote here!

Slower audio for breathing exercises
P
Pauline Romas
My coach was telling me steps for a mindful breathing exercise, but the normal speed of voice seemed unnatural for this more meditative instruction. It would be nice if there was a slightly longer pause between each step. Or even better, if the speed of her voice could be slowed as she was explaining the guidance.

Coaching responses keep partially generating/ Mic keeps cutting off
T
T.J. Martin-Lokey
During a coaching session, the AI keeps cutting off it's responses. I have to ask it to finish generating. It takes multiple requests before a full response is given. When speaking into the microphone my responses keep getting stopped even though I haven't clicked on the button to stop the microphone.
Both issues are causing significant usage issues. I would highly suggest looking into what's causing both of them. Otherwise it's quite a hindrance to using the product in a smooth way.

Thank you- would you please leave an update here when you finish so I can be notified and make the upgrade? Thanks Jonathan!
Jonathan haber
Rajib Ghosh: Absolutely Rajib! I would be honored to do that, thank you so much.
We just made a small upgrade, if theres any chance you were trying it in a webview before it definitely would not have worked.
The particular issue your talking about we absolutely could fix, the voice to voice mode is designed to detect silence of 4 seconds to interpret your message as complete, which might be the issue, we were trying to estimate at which point of silence we could safely assume someone was done speaking.
Is that whats happening, that you have a pause and it acts like you finished? Would it feel more natural to have a longer pause, like 6 seconds, 8 or 10?
The new voice to voice upgrades are a completely .new system coming in which we expect to feel a lot more like talking to a person

If what I am describing sounds like the issue, that you .have a pause for 4 seconds while gathering your thoughts and it acts like your done speaking, I can absolutely fix that in 2 ways.
1 - I can try adding more time requirement as mentioned.
2 - I can give you control over how many seconds should pass before the AI should interpret you as done speaking, including turning this off entirely, and put that in the settings for you.
What would you imagine to be best?
If anyone else things 4 seconds is too short, or that the idea of the ai being able to interpret when your done speaking by how long you are silent is not adding any value / more of a problem, please comment on this!

Rajib Ghosh
The first day I was able to use the voice mode without any issues but now I remember why I canceled my membership the last time-The microphone will work, but it’ll only record a few words of my entire sentence or paragraph- I’ve tried logging out and logging back in and The same issue persists
Jonathan haber
Thanks for letting us know! We are upgrading the voice to voice mode now. Sorry you did not get a faster reply. We should have a new voice to voice mode within about 14 days.
